Florida Yacht Club - Jacksonville, Florida

March 1st, 2nd and 3rd

One if by land.....two if by sea.....it doesn’t matter how you get there, you just have to be there!

Once again, we’ll venture south to Black Creek.  It’s always fun to see multiple generations all there at the same time enjoying this kind of outing. Thank you Stewart Ira and Family for all the years of fun and memories on Black Creek.  We will miss having Stewart with us but I know he’ll be watching with that big smile on his face, happy that his family and friends are at the farm doing something he loved to do. Stewart joined the FYC in 1970, and shortly thereafter the first Frostbite Cruise was held on his 40th birthday in 1971. He was Commodore in 1987. His commitment through the years to FYC boating and sailing was unsurpassed and he’s been awarded Yachtsmen of the Year and The Florida Yacht Club’s Fleet Lifetime Achievement Award.  We look forward to honoring his memory, telling great stories and raising a glass to our friend. This year we encourage FYC boats large and small.....young folks, old folks and everywhere in between to enjoy this unique event. Don’t forget, you don’t have to come by boat, arrive by car or even motorhome. As always, the burn-it will be on Saturday night; bring your steak, chicken, fish etc. for the grill, the Club will provide the sides and salad and live music for the afternoon and evening. Don’t forget a contribution for Sunday’s breakfast, the best steak and eggs you’ll ever eat. Friday night everyone is on their own for dinner, but rumor has it there could be some tasty bivalves for appetizers!

Oak trees, bond fires, s’mores, a few ghost stories.....and oh yea.....a boat trip. I know Stewart would say “it doesn’t get better than that”!  Grab those fenders, throw an extra blanket on board and join us.  Rain or shine, hot or cold we’ll be there.

Live Music Schedule

  • Wetland String Band - Friday Night
  • The Double Down Band - Saturday Night, 6:00pm - 9:00pm

We are looking forward to seeing you there.
