St. Augustine Cruise

March 25th, 26th, 27th

Fire up those outboards…fire up the diesels…time for a fun trip to St. Augustine! Hopefully everyone has done the winter maintenance and is ready to go. The club is holding slips with the city marina so please click below to register and reserve your slip.

Please Register Here

This is a casual trip where we can all relax, enjoy St. Augustine and our fellow members without a lot of planned activity. Recommended itinerary might be as follows:

Friday, March 25th

Leave FYC about 10:00am, stop at Palm Valley Outdoors for a little music, lunch and beverage. Continue to St Augustine for arrival around 4:00pm. There are two hotels right across the street that are very reasonable: The Club is not holding rooms, you must make your own reservation.

Saturday, March 26th

St. Augustine walking Pub crawl/Poker run – fun for all πŸΊπŸƒ

Sunday, March 27th

Back to FYC (maybe a stop at Valley Smoke!)

Remember, we are holding slips at the marina so click the link Here to reserve yours. We’re looking forward to seeing everyone on the water.

FCYC Fernandina Cruise

April 22nd, 23rd, 24th

This should be a great weekend arranged by and hosted by The Florida Council of Yacht Clubs. All club members from FCYC’s 37 member clubs are invited to attend and so far many clubs are represented. The link at the bottom of this page gives valuable information about Fernandina and things around town that might be of interest but there are several activities that require your attention if you are coming and would like to be included.

Friday April 22nd | 3:30pm - 5:30pm

BYOB 2-hour cruise to Cumberland Island - $55/per person or $110/per couple. Music on board with Jimmy Beats LIMITED TO THE FIRST 49 PARTICIPANTS TO PAY!

Saturday, April 23rd | 10:00am

1.5 Hour Historic Trolley Tour - $20/per person or $40/per couple LIMITED TO THE FIRST 40 PARTICIPANTS TO PAY!

Marina Reservations

If you would like to take your boat Fernandina Harbor Marina is holding 700 feet of dock space for the FCYC group. If you make your own reservation, please tell the marina you are with the FCYC so they can try to keep us together.

There will be a meet and greet cocktail hour at the Hampton Inn on Saturday afternoon/evening and a possible lunch and/or dinner for us depending on space requirements. This will be communicated to you separately.

Please read below an excerpt from FCYC email concerning payment:

Both events require us to pay in advance. If we don’t have sufficient funds by the deadline, then we must cancel that event, return/refund any payments and everyone will have to make individual plans to do the cruise and trolley tour via public not private arrangements. It would appear that we will have a sufficient number of participants to meet the capacity of each event, but we must receive payment prior to the event.

We have explored different options to collect money, but unfortunately we have not been able to find a way for you to pay by credit card. That leaves us with payment by check or technology (Venmo because it is free if you use your bank account or debit card for this payment). If you wish to pay by check, please send separate checks for each event. This will enable us to refund/return checks for one event without cancelling the other. Please make the check(s) payable to and forward to Ron Souders at 5681 Baltusrol Court, Unit 2A, Sanibel, FL 33957.

If you wish to pay via Venmo here is the process if you don’t already have a Venmo account:
  • Step 1: Download Venmo app to your phone from the app store
  • Step 2: Create an account
  • Step 3: Link one of your bank accounts to Venmo
  • Step 4: Go to Transactions for payment
  • Step 5: Indicate Payment to Ronald-Souders-1
  • Step 6: Indicate the appropriate amount Whether paying via check or Venmo, please send me an email letting me know that you have sent payment and which method was used so that I can be on the lookout for the payment and confirm with you when it is received. If you have any questions, please call.
Thanks, Ron, 443-480-3981

This will be a fun weekend for all and a great opportunity to meet other FCYC members that share the same passion for their club, boating and fellowship as we do. We’re looking forward to seeing you there.

Welaka

Grab your anchors and fenders and join us in Welaka for some cool 75 degree spring water!

Thursday, July 21st

We will depart FYC around 10:00am to head down the river. Stop for lunch and a weather check at Corky Bells. If the afternoon thunderstorms arrive, we have a bar to hang out in. We will have pool time upon arrival.

Friday, July 22nd

We plan to head to Silver Glen to avoid the weekend crowds. It is highly suggested you have a DC as FWC has really stepped up their patrol in recent weeks. Grill out at Riverbend to follow and more pool time.

Saturday, July 23rd

Cruise to Salt Run. May have a run over to Renegades for some of Welaka’s own “baby beers”. Saturday night we will have dinner at the “World Famous” Shrimps R Us. The food and drink are good, possibly even a little karaoke with the locals like last year!

Sunday, July 24th

Head back to the club. May do lunch at Corky Bells. Perhaps Outback Crab Shack is open.

Hope to see you in the Springs!

Jekyll Island

Southern Living Shrimp & Grits Festival, Jekyll Island, GA
November 4th, 5th, 6th

This is sure to be another great FYC adventure…there will be plenty of daytime activity for everyone at the Southern Living Shrimp and Grits Festival (click for info). We will be on the face dock at Jekyll Harbor Marina, the marina prior to passing under the bridge. This is a side tie same as Fernandina Harbor Marina. It is approximately 65 nm to Jekyll Harbor. The important thing you need to know is, FYC is not holding a block of slips. If you haven’t made a slip reservation, you will need to call Jekyll Harbor Marina or go to Dockwa and make your own reservation for that weekend. As of now there is 300 feet of dock remaining, don’t delay as this is first come first served.

Jekyll Harbor Website

This is a great cruise to bring your bicycle, the marina has some but they could be hard to come by as the marina could be full. Also, the north end of Cumberland Island is not far if you have a small boat and want some beach time. The marina has a pool which will be perfect for an afternoon swim if it’s warm enough. They also have a great place to cook out. So, I would recommend our normal format for Friday and Saturday night, it seems to work pretty well.

Thursday, November 3rd
Arrival for anyone coming Thursday, on your own for dinner

Friday, November 4th
Arrival throughout day 6:30pm FYC burn-it in pool area…maybe a baby beer! Remember bring your favorite meat for the grill, everyone bring a side dish.

Saturday, November 5th
Festival – 6:30pm. Hors d'oeuvre Dock Party

Sunday, November 6th
Depart (Festival continues on Sunday) If anyone needs a hotel room, there are plenty of hotels. We are not holding any rooms anywhere, there are too many choices. If you need a room you need to make your reservation directly. We’re looking forward to a great weekend, see you there!
