Swedish Massage

Still the most popular massage today, Swedish Massage techniques leave the body relaxed and rested. Using lighter, rhythmic strokes, Swedish Massages are enjoyed by people of all ages and lifestyles. Swedish Massage includes long, relaxing strokes, kneading, friction, tapping, and shaking motions. It is effective for most ailments, because massaging the skin, the body's largest organ, sets up a chain reaction that produces a positive effect on all layers and systems of the body. It affects the nerves, muscles, glands and circulation, while promoting health and well-being. Swedish Massage helps release the body of unwanted strain and stress.

Therapeutic Massage

Therapeutic Massage targets chronic tension in muscles that lie far below the surface of your body. Deep muscle techniques usually involve slow stokes with direct pressure or friction movements that go across or with the fibers of the muscles. The purpose of Therapeutic Massage/Deep Tissue Massage is to loosen stressed tissue that blocks oxygen and nutrients, leading to inflammation that builds up toxins.

Sports Massage

The main purpose of Sports Massage therapy is to help alleviate the stress and tension which builds up in the body’s soft tissues during physical activity. Where minor injuries and lesions occur, due to overexertion and/or overuse, massage can break them down quickly and effectively. The massage will help prepare the athlete for peak performance, to drain away fatigue, to relieve swelling, to reduce muscle tension, to promote flexibility and to prevent injuries. Sports Massage can help prevent those niggling injuries that so often get in the way of performance and achievement, whether a person is an athlete or a once a week jogger.

Neuromuscular Therapy

Neuromuscular Therapy is the utilization of static pressure on specific myofascial points (knots) to relieve pain. Injury, trauma, postural distortion or stress cause nerves to speed up their transmission, therefore making the body vulnerable to pain and dysfunction. Specific types of dysfunctions and repetitive motion and accumulative trauma such as headaches, migraines, scoliosis, TMJ, whiplash, herniated disks, back pain, torticollis, shoulder pain, hip pain, knee pain, foot pain, plantar fasciitis, carpal tunnel syndrome, sciatica, thoracic outlet syndrome, shin splints, tendonitis, spasms, cramps, strains, postural distortions, fibromyalgia, frozen shoulder, rotator cuff dysfunctions, respond well to this type of treatment.

Prenatal Massage

Massage during pregnancy is therapeutic bodywork which focuses on the special needs of the mother-to-be as her body goes through the dramatic changes of the childbirth experience. The popularity of prenatal massage is the result of a trend toward a higher level of wellness, especially during pregnancy. In addition to the fact that massage during pregnancy just plain feels good, there are many other benefits for the mom-to-be and her baby too. Touch is vital to the mother's physical and emotional well-being as she adapts to her new body image. Regardless of individual circumstances, a pregnant woman's body is challenged, changed and stressed in many ways. Massage gives special attention to the mother- to-be, which in turn nurtures the new life that grows within her.

Hot Stone Massage

Hot Stone Massage is a style of massage therapy in which water-treated stones are placed at specific sites of your body to promote relaxation. Muscles are pretreated with the heated stones to allow the therapist to more easily perform deep tissue manipulations.
