Don’t Fall Off the Wagon this Holiday Season

Here are a few easy steps on how to survive the holiday season:

  • If you cannot stay on your normal fitness schedule during the holidays, set goals to get 30 minutes of activity at least three times each week. This may mean a 30 minute brisk walk or 30 minutes at the FYC Fitness Facility.
  • Increasing your party food intake and decreasing your workout time can leave you with a 50% loss of your fitness gains in 4 weeks. You have worked too hard all year to do that.
  • Here are a few tips for surviving the holiday food frenzy:
    • Eat before you go to a holiday gathering.
    • When snacking, look for high protein food, fruit and vegetables.
    • Avoid high fat hors d’oeuveres.
    • Choose soda water and a lime towards the end of the night to save those extra calories.
    • Make yourself the designated driver at least half of the time. This will help you avoid calorieladen alcoholic beverages.

Sign up for a Free Assessment to set realistic 12 week goals. You can lose 1% Body Fat every month and 1 lb per week. Over 12 weeks this is HUGE!

  • Sign up for a workout program. Our trainers will design a program that will fit your fitness level, goals, and needs. They will teach you how to set the equipment properly and how to perform each exercise correctly. This is the key. There is a $35.00 fee for program design, but it is worth!
  • 6 WEEKS, change your workout. Sign up for a change in your workout. I encourage you to change your workout program at least every 6 weeks. You want to get results, so you want to change things a bit.
  • 12 WEEKS, follow up, new workout program, new goals setting. This is crucial to keep moving in the right direction.
  • Try some of our Specialty Classes, Yoga, Interval Training, and Zumba!
