at the club this week

From its idyllic perch on the St. Johns River, The Florida Yacht Club offers a panoramic view of Florida’s longest river and the dynamic Jacksonville skyline. With both its historic clubhouse and manicured grounds, it is easy to see why the Club has been a distinguished Northeast Florida landmark since 1876. To experience the Club’s amenities is to understand what makes The Florida Yacht Club the premier social club in Jacksonville and one of the most renowned clubs in the United States. The Florida Yacht Club was first organized for the purpose of promoting yachting and social enjoyment, and has done so continually for generations of families. We offer top-flight dining options, two superior marinas, a well-appointed clubhouse, prestigious tennis and sailing programs, resort-style swimming facilities and a modern Fitness Center. The Fitness Center has personal training and spa features such as a massage studio and facial treatment services. Whether you are a tennis player, boater, sailor, family person or established professional, you will enjoy the sophisticated charm and delightful hospitality in The Florida Yacht Club.

Fleet and Sailing

The Florida Yacht Club is blessed with the rare combination of a rich history of boating, a well-equipped marina and staff, and an idyllic perch on the sparkling St. Johns River. It has been FYC’s mission since its inception to promote boating and that ethos remains as vibrant as ever.

FYC offers members the opportunity for power boating, sailing, kayaking, scuba diving and other aquatic activities and also hosts numerous social cruises and major sailing regattas, including the 2012 J24 North American Championship. In addition to its year-round competition schedule, FYC’s Youth Sailing Program is in full swing during the summer months, when the highly successful sailing camps become an energetic and ubiquitous presence on the Club’s waterfront. Positioned 23 miles from the Intracoastal Waterway, FYC provides fishing and cruising enthusiasts direct access to the Atlantic Ocean.

FYC boasts two marinas that contain 73 wet slips, 18 dry lifts and 58 dry storage spots, together offering boaters space for 149 crafts, in addition to small sailboat storage. Knowledgeable and enthusiastic Dock Masters are on duty from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm Tuesday through Sunday to accommodate FYC Members’ and guests’ boating needs.
